Virtual Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony for Major EMS Renovations

Maureen Fonseca, Head of school at Elisabeth Morrow School, with EMS parents Frank and Jean Zhang cutting the ribbon for EMS school improvements.

We are excited to share with you our virtual ribbon-cutting ceremony and show our students enjoying major renovations that were completed at our school this summer.

We were able to make these renovations because of a generous donation of $2 million from EMS parents Frank and Jean Zhang. This is the largest gift made to The Elisabeth Morrow School in its 90-year history. The Zhang family is building upon the EMS culture of philanthropy by creating a lasting impact for all children within the community today and for generations to come.

Fifth- and sixth-grade middle school students now enjoy better-equipped learning spaces with improved lighting and technology, new student desks, chairs, and storage units, as well as improved music practice rooms, new lockers, and updated bathrooms. In addition, EMS now has a class for 2-year-old students in Chilton House. The 2s class addition is aligned with founder Elisabeth Morrow’s vision when she opened the first Little School 90 years ago. Other improvements in Chilton House include enhanced security and private outdoor learning terraces for each classroom.

There's No Better Time to Support Your Child's Education

Every time you donate to one of Elisabeth Morrow's dedicated funds, you help enrich the daily experiences of our community on campus. STEAM spaces are improved, library catalogues expanded, scholarships are funded, and teachers are hired. Every day, you can see the impact your generous donations have on campus.

EMS prepares students for an impressive range of top-tier secondary schools.

Our students cultivate the ability to learn, think, explore, empathize, and lead. They graduate with the ability, mindset, and competencies to navigate a global world and are well-prepared to face an unknowable future.

Accustomed to a challenging academic environment, EMS students welcome the demands of competitive secondary schools and are often placed in advanced sections where they perform very well.

YOUR CHILD WOULD THRIVE AT EMS. SCHEDULE A TIME TO TALK TO SOMEONE ABOUT JOINING OUR COMMUNITY.
