Theater Arts at The Elisabeth Morrow School
About Theater Arts at EMS
Chilton House (Age 2–Kindergarten) students are introduced to a variety of performing genres, techniques, and media and are encouraged to share thoughts and feelings about their own work or the work of others.
Throughout Little School (Grades 1–4), students study dramatic scripts and learn about performing both individually and as a group.
Morrow House students in fifth and sixth grades can perform in musical theater as part of the electives program. Students learn how to read and analyze a script and use stage direction, blocking, and choreography. The performance includes lighting, sound, costumes, and sets.
In seventh and eighth grades, they can perform in a musical as part of the electives program. Students learn how to read and analyze a script and use stage direction, blocking, and choreography. The class culminates in a fully-staged performance for classmates, family, and friends.
