Chilton House Rocket Launch

April 17 @ 9:00 am 10:30 am EDT

The Oak Room (3s/4s) students have been immersed in a mini-unit on rockets, engaging every domain of learning:

  • Literacy: Reading stories about how rockets work and learning new vocabulary such as “propulsion” and “launch”
  • Math: estimating the number of feet a rocket will reach
  • Science and motor skills: Using stomp rockets to understand air pressure
  • Social studies: Collaboratively building a rocket (the arts) to learning about the science of rocket launching vs. the hobby of rocket launching

As a culminating experience, the Gurevich family (Archer and Theo) has generously offered to share its family tradition of rocket launching with some of our students on the turf field.

Learning in Chilton House is always a deeply immersive and powerful experience.

EMS prepares students for an impressive range of top-tier secondary schools.

Our students cultivate the ability to learn, think, explore, empathize, and lead. They graduate with the ability, mindset, and competencies to navigate a global world and are well-prepared to face an unknowable future.

Accustomed to a challenging academic environment, EMS students welcome the demands of competitive secondary schools and are often placed in advanced sections where they perform very well.

YOUR CHILD WOULD THRIVE AT EMS. SCHEDULE A TIME TO TALK TO SOMEONE ABOUT JOINING OUR COMMUNITY.
