Families and students participated in a design challenge during a virtual STEAM event and built a trap to catch a mischievous creature, such as a leprechaun, dragon, or unicorn. “While engaging in the design process, students made their creations, shared ideas, learned from others, and had fun learning about the various aspects of STEAM concepts,” says Lower School STEAM Chair and Science Teacher Kara Makohon-Moore. Families also received suggestions and ideas for activities to further encourage the design, science, and mathematical approaches in their children’s everyday lives.
