Chilton House is excited to announce several enhancements for the 2024-2025 academic year, including four new faculty members, formal implementation of the Wit & Wisdom language arts program for kindergarten, expanded Sounds in Motion approach to early literacy for 3s/4s, a strengthened Student Success Team, and continued growth of Seedlings and our Partnership Series.
In Little School for the 2024-2025 academic year, we have focused on further strengthening our Student Success Team, instilling the 4 C’s in our students with our new lunchroom in the Cohen Center, continuing our commitment to growth in literacy, bringing back the popular Continental Math League in December, and more.
For the 2024–2025 academic year, Morrow House has focused on refining initiatives introduced last year to enrich student learning and increase student voice and agency.
For the 2024-2025 academic year, 77 new students enrolled — making our start-of-the-year enrollment 380 students. Inquiries for the 2025-2026 school year are strong, and many families have already engaged with EMS through open houses and campus tours. Applications are up 31% over last year to date. Interest in Chilton House is especially robust, with the 2s and kindergarten serving as our primary entry points for the EMS journey.
The main goal of the advancement office is to help build a strong and engaged community while fundraising to meet the needs of the school. Through increased visibility, engagement, and collaboration, the team is committed to building a culture of philanthropy to support so many exciting endeavors at EMS.
The goal of Auxiliary Programs is to provide families with quality enrichment programs while extending the school hours to accommodate families’ schedules. These programs also help children to grow and develop knowledge, skills, and interests.
The Elisabeth Morrow School’s initiatives around community life, equity, and belonging (CLEB) focus on designing equity, access, and liberation for the entire community; enriching student experiences that help them to understand, value, and benefit from the diversity of our community and beyond, navigating diversity, equity, and belonging conversations and integrating anti-bias standards in our faculty-staff professional development.
More than 85% of the school’s annual expenses support educational programs in the form of faculty and staff salaries, benefits, program and instructional materials, and financial aid. The school’s physical plant, technology services, general administrative support, and capital improvements account for the remaining 15%.
Our campus and facilities are an essential platform for our faculty and administration to bring their academic vision to life for our students. Our campus and facility strategy remains focused on two key elements: It is driven by the school’s needs as defined by our strategic plan, as well as the continual maintenance and modernization of our campus while being true to its original design.
The communications and marketing team is responsible for the school’s voice, branding, and marketing materials, including but not limited to the school’s website, social media presence, digital and print advertising, direct email, and public relations efforts, as well as the school’s major publications, such as the EMS Newsletter and Apple Tree Magazine.
