Each week, our students in grades 2–6 choose two workshops they’ll attend all week. In the afternoon, they can choose their activities day by day. Below are a sample of options that were available for our 2024 season.

Morning Workshop Descriptions
Week 1 – June 24-28
Cool Summertime Treats
Stay cool while you create delicious and nutritious treats in the kitchen! Learn to make “no-cook” recipes, like smoothies, dips, fruit pops, homemade ice cream, and more! Explore simple recipes that don’t require the use of an oven or stove, but are delicious and good for you!
Eco Explorers
This outdoor workshop serves as a sanctuary for budding greenthumbs and nature enthusiasts alike. Within our own EMS garden, students will immerse themselves in a hands-on adventure, sowing seeds, fostering an appreciation for the environment, and witnessing their understanding of plants and nature flourish. Students will need to register for this class in Workshop I and Workshop II to participate.
Enchanted Escapades
Through captivating tales and lore, students will unravel the mysteries surrounding magical and fantastical beings, discovering the unique traits and folklore that define each one. Students will bring these enchanted and magical creatures to life through imaginative crafts. From crafting unicorn horns to designing phoenix feathers, sculpting gnome homes, and creating fairy wings, participants will engage in a variety of creative projects that allow them to express their unique interpretations of these magical beings.
Fun-dations Reading Program
Under the direction of a specially trained teacher, students will work in a small group setting. Students will review and practice the phonology of language and rules governing reading and writing through a variety of multi-sensory experiences. Enrollment is limited to rising second graders to allow for a low student-to-teacher ratio. Students must have current teacher recommendations/reading assessments to ensure proper placement. The program is designed for five weeks of consecutive programming to ensure thorough coverage of material. Students must enroll in at least three weeks to participate. An extra fee is required for this workshop.
Games, Games, Games
Students will have fun playing classic games like Battleship and Clue, as well as exciting card games, and mancala and checkers. Students will learn valuable strategies, game-playing techniques, cooperation, and good sportsmanship. Ready, set, play!
Math+Games=FUN
In this dynamic workshop, students will explore a variety of math topics, including area, perimeter, geometry, order of operations, and basic math facts. Through hands-on activities and interactive games, students will not only refine their understanding of these fundamental concepts but will also discover the joy of applying them in a playful and cooperative setting.
Mini Art
Students will unleash their creativity as they embark on a journey to create enchanting miniature masterpieces, including mini clay food, tiny origami, and miniature portraits. In this imaginative workshop, the possibilities are as vast as your child’s imagination.
Motorized Lego Build: Amusement Park
This hands-on workshop explores STEAM concepts primarily using LEGO Bricks, in which children will develop problem-solving and critical thinking skills in a fun and engaging way. Students will learn how to make mechanical Lego models that move. As they advance in their building skills, students will have a chance to motorize their weekly model for even more learning fun.
Motorized Lego Build: Mission to Space
This hands-on workshop explores STEAM concepts primarily using LEGO Bricks, in which children will develop problem-solving and critical thinking skills in a fun and engaging way. Students will learn how to make mechanical Lego models move. As they advance in their building skills, they will have a chance to motorize their weekly model for even more learning fun.
Play with Paper Mache
Students will have fun using their creativity and imagination to create a fun, 3-D paper mache creation of their own design. Let’s roll up our sleeves and get ready for a little messy fun!
Sports Skills
Students will engage in sports-related games and activities that will help them develop skills that make athletes successful. Students will focus on teamwork, problem-solving, and leadership while participating in drills and games that highlight motor skills and movements that improve athleticism and ability.
Actor’s Studio
Students will dive into the world of acting and dramatic expression as they embark on a dynamic journey of creativity. From honing acting skills to exploring character development and stage presence, this workshop is your child’s ticket to an immersive and entertaining week of theatrical exploration.
Art 101
Students will practice and apply the strategies and techniques needed to make realistic artworks from a still life study to a portrait and a realistic landscape. Students should bring their creativity and get ready for some artistic fun!
Build A Bridge
Students will incorporate STEM skills to learn about different types of bridges so they can plan out and design their own. At the end of the week, students will test the strength of their bridge to see how much weight it can hold before it collapses. Will their bridge hold up to the challenge?
Dr. Chemistry
Does your child love chemistry? In this class, students will perform several chemical lab experiments, including making elephant toothpaste, creating their own silly putty, designing an air freshener, and more!
Game Design
Has your child ever dreamed of creating a video game? In this workshop, they will dive into game development and learn the fundamentals of game design, starting with HTML programming. During the course, students will use AI technology for storytelling and image creation, infusing unlimited options into game creation. They will also work on enhancing writing skills by coding trivia challenges and immersive choose-your-own-adventure games. Students will have the opportunity to collaborate on a group game. Together, students will practice the techniques learned throughout the course to craft a game that can be shared with friends and family. Students don’t need any previous experience or special software. Students will need to register for this class in Workshop I and Workshop II to participate.
Kitchen Science
From creating ice cream in a bag, crafting fizzy beverages and making homemade butter, every day will bring new surprises and discoveries. Join us for this workshop that blends the joy of cooking with the wonders of science, creating a recipe for a memorable and educational experience.
Outdoor Adventures
Does your child love nature? This is the workshop for them! They will join us as we go hiking on our beautiful campus, practice building shelters, and explore Northern New Jersey’s vegetation and wildlife. We will also learn some first aid basics that can help in any situation. During the week, we will visit a local nature trail and learn the basics of outdoor survival and map reading.
Painters Palette
Is your child ready to put a smock on? Students will be taught color mixing with acrylic paint and layering with watercolor. They will learn how watercolor reacts with different materials. Students will be creating a variety of paintings that they can display proudly at home.
POV (Point of View Narrative Writing)
In this interactive workshop, students will have the opportunity to explore writing short narratives from various perspectives, including animals, inanimate objects, and even beloved characters from popular stories. This workshop promises to be both engaging and educational, helping students develop their writing skills while having fun along the way!
Science Changes Everything
Did you know that chemical and physical changes happen all around us? In this class, students will perform experiments to understand the difference between chemical and physical changes. Experiments include volcanic eruptions, melting ice cubes, magic milk, and more! Get ready to see how science can make things happen right before your eyes!
Sports Skills
Students will work on analyzing the patterns within categories of games and activities, movement concepts, fitness components, and skill application. The learning experiences will be focused on safe participation and responsible decision-making.
Week 2 – July 1-5 (no camp on July 4)
Art Jumble
Students will be introduced to different mediums, such as a wide variety of materials including acrylic paints, watercolor, chalk pastels, colored pencils, paper, fabrics, clay, pipe cleaners, yarn, wood material, and more! They will use their imagination to create unique, one-of-a-kind works of art!
Backyard Games
Whether it’s a spirited game of frisbee, a strategic round of cornhole, or a fun game of kickball, students will have the chance to experience the thrill of these activities firsthand. Backyard games aren’t just about play; they’re an invitation to connect, have fun, and create lasting memories in the great outdoors.
Colorful World of Science
From creating colorful chemical reactions to exploring the intricacies of light and color, every lab is a canvas for scientific discovery. This workshop is not just about completing experiments; it’s about fostering a love for science through engaging, colorful, and hands-on experiences.
Comic Creations
Pow! Boom! Zing! Students will dive into the exciting and entertaining world of comics! They will explore the production of graphic novels, unravel the secrets of compelling storytelling, and create their own characters, stories, and comic strips each day.
Fashion Design
If your child has a flair for fashion or a passion for design, this workshop is tailor-made for them. Students will have the opportunity to unleash their imagination and create their own fashion masterpieces. Whether it’s designing clothing and accessories, or exploring the world of costume design, instructors will guide them every step of the way. No prior fashion experience is necessary! This class is not just about fashion; it’s a chance for students to boost their confidence, enhance their problem-solving skills, and make fashion-forward friends. Students will need to register for this class in Workshop I and Workshop II to participate.

Students will review and practice the phonology of language and rules governing reading and writing through a variety of multi-sensory experiences. Enrollment is limited to rising second graders to allow for a low student-to-teacher ratio. Students must have current teacher recommendations/reading assessments to ensure proper placement. The program is designed for five weeks of consecutive programming to ensure thorough coverage of material. Students must enroll in at least three weeks to participate. An extra fee is required for this workshop.
Money Matters
Students will learn about money and build their financial literacy! They will have the chance to work with spending and saving money, learn about making a budget, and how to work with discounts.
Outdoor Adventures
Does your child love nature? This is the workshop for them! They will join us as we go hiking on our beautiful campus, practice building shelters, and explore Northern New Jersey’s vegetation and wildlife. We will also learn some first aid basics that can help in any situation. During the week, we will visit a local nature trail and participate in some nature appreciation activities.
Painting Lab
In this workshop, students will have fun mixing their own paints, learning various painting techniques used in works of art, and using famous pieces of artwork for inspiration. They will use a variety of media, including watercolor and tempera, to build their own painting portfolio to take home at the end of the week.
Super Scientists
If your child loves science, this is the workshop for them! Students will have a chance to explore, investigate, and experiment. Each day, students will complete hands-on activities that focus on an area of science. They will learn how to make a hypothesis, conduct experiments, observe the data, and draw a conclusion.
Wonders of the World
Our world is home to so many awe-inspiring structures and formations! Students will learn about the tallest buildings and mountains, ancient pyramids, underground caves, and more!
AI for Kids
Does your child want to know about/know how to use AI? Students can cultivate their own creativity by creating AI symphonies, working with partners and AI to create animated books, and generating AI animations. Along the way, they’ll gain access to a suite of tools that can help with homework in the future, build familiarity with the new AI world we’re moving into, and — importantly — understand when and when not to use this powerful new tool. Note that this is not a coding class Students will need to register for this class in Workshop I and Workshop II to participate.
Amazing Artifacts and Creations
Students will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the wonderful world of ancient artifacts and feats of engineering throughout history. They will learn about the cultures that created the amazing marvels and artifacts. Each day, the class will work on drawings and projects that reflect what the students have learned throughout the week. Lastly, beyond learning about history, science, and art, the students will present information to their classmates in a confident and respectful way.
Art Around the World
Art can be found all around the world! Each country or culture expresses itself through art in its own unique way. Students will have the opportunity to explore, design, and create their own works of art inspired by different cultures, including molas from Panama, aboriginal masks from Australia, notan art from Japan, and many others.
Backyard Games
Whether it’s a spirited game of frisbee, a strategic round of cornhole, or a fun game of kickball, students will have the chance to experience the thrill of these activities firsthand. Backyard games aren’t just about play; they’re an invitation to connect, have fun, and create lasting memories in the great outdoors.
Cells Alive!
Is your child about what a cell is? Look no further! This is the class for them! Students will learn about plant and animal cells by using microscopes and designing 3D models. Students will learn about the structure and function of the organelles in each cell and why they are vital to all living things.
Cool Eats and Treats!
Students will enjoy creating delicious treats that are cool, refreshing, and healthy! They will learn basic cooking techniques as they create recipes that don’t need to be heated or cooked. Yogurt parfaits, fruit smoothies, ice cream cake and more!
Journalism
Does your child love writing? Have they ever wanted to publish articles online, or have something they wrote go viral? In this workshop for budding writers, students will learn how to be a junior journalist. They will interview their classmates and learn how to craft articles over the course of the week with the guidance of skilled (and fun) instructors. At the end of the class, they will team up to write a real article that they will submit to local newspapers and try to get it published before the summer ends. Students will need to register for this class in Workshop 1 and Workshop 2 to participate.
Photography
Does your child enjoy taking photographs? In this workshop, students will learn the basics of photography, in all of its forms. They will learn about composition, lighting, and other core strategies that allow professionals to take incredible photos. They will take pictures of campus, go on nature tours, and create their own unique photo album.
Quest Masters in Training
If your child enjoys role-playing games, then this workshop will prepare them to lead their very own quests with their friends. They will learn how to design heart-stopping adventures using their imagination.
Slimy Science
In this engaging workshop, students will embark on a slime-making adventure, experimenting with a diverse array of materials to concoct slimes that defy expectations. From glitter-infused masterpieces to color-changing marvels, participants will delve into the science behind slime, discovering the fascinating interactions that create these mesmerizing concoctions. From viscosity to polymer chains, every slimy experiment is an opportunity to learn, play, and have a blast.
Week 3 – July 8-12
Art Illustrations
Students will learn what it takes to be an illustrator and join us for a story. They will create a piece of artwork based on a story and even create their own storybook artwork.

Game Play!
In this fast-moving and energetic workshop, students learn how to play all kinds of fun, interactive, and cooperative games. They will have fun while moving their bodies and working their minds!
The Great Outdoors
Students will learn about local wildlife while exploring our beautiful 14-acre EMS campus. They will also learn camping basics, such as creating packing lists, building campfires, map reading, and more.
Healthy Treats and Eats
Students will learn the secrets of balancing taste and nutrition as we guide them through the process of creating treats that not only tantalize the taste buds but also contribute to their overall well-being. Inventor’s Workshop
Students will engage in thrilling STEM challenges designed to ignite their creativity and problem-solving skills. Throughout the week, participants will embark on exciting missions, including constructing a paper tower, designing a boat to carry as many pennies as possible, and building a catapult for in-class target practice. These hands-on challenges are crafted to inspire students to design, build, and test their creations, fostering a dynamic learning environment. G
Manga Drawing for Beginners
Students will learn how to draw the basic manga characters using shapes and anatomy for movement and design. Students will work on developing their own manga characters to tell their own stories. Students will also learn about the history of Manga.
Math/Stem Challenge
Students will put their problem-solving skills to the test while using their math skills! Daily math challenges will keep their brain sharp as they work with area and perimeter, measurement, volume, and geometry. They will work together with classmates to find the best way to solve the problem.

Science Explorers: Adventures in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
Students will join us on a journey of discovery as we engage in thrilling laboratory experiments covering the fascinating realms of biology, chemistry, and physics. Through a hands-on approach, our young scientists will unlock the secrets of the colorful world of science, making learning a vibrant and interactive experience.
“Yes, And” Theater and Improv Games
Does your child love acting and want to learn how to improvise like a pro? This workshop is the perfect place to start! Students will explore the fundamentals of improvisational theater and learn how to think on their feet. Students will develop their acting skills through fun exercises and games, as well as learn the art of “Yes And,” a technique that encourages collaboration and creativity. Whether you’re a seasoned actor or a beginner, this workshop will help you develop your confidence and creativity on stage. No previous experience is necessary!
Art in Nature
Students will use the nature around them to design works of art. They will be looking at the work of Andy Goldsworthy, an international sculptor, land artist, and photographer based in Scotland. Students will create installations around the EMS campus inspired by Goldsworthy and bring nature inside to make their own works of art to take home, including leaf prints and nature collages.
Coding: Build Your Own App
Does your child want to make their own websites and apps? In this hands-on coding and tech class, students will learn the skills of a coder and the mindset of an entrepreneur through building apps. Students will build apps and games weekly in the workshop and work on real web apps. Previous students have been covered in multiple local news outlets for apps they’ve built for homeless shelters, veterinarians, and local climate nonprofits! Students will need to register for this class in Workshop I and Workshop II to participate.
Ecosystems Investigation
Is your child curious about how different organisms live in different types of places? In this class, students will learn about the different ecosystems organisms inhabit. Each student will research and create a 3D ecosystem, and have the opportunity to present their projects to the class at the end of the week.

Learn the secrets of balancing taste and nutrition as we guide you through the process of creating treats that not only tantalize the taste buds but also contribute to your overall well-being. Whether it’s mixing up guilt-free desserts, blending nutritious smoothies, or experimenting with alternative cooking methods, this workshop is a gateway to a world of culinary possibilities.
Jewelry Making
Students will make their own polymer clay charms, earrings, bracelets, and more while exploring the possibilities of polymer clay, shrinky dinks, and perler beads. Students will also be designing their own jewelry box to store their beautiful works of art.
Law and Order (Fairy Tale Edition)
In this unique and educational mock trial workshop, students will embark on a journey to enhance their critical thinking abilities, master the art of persuasion, and develop impressive public speaking skills. Through a range of interactive activities and exercises, they will not only gain confidence but also unlock their full potential and build confidence!
Math/STEM Challenge
Daily math challenges will keep your child’s brain sharp as they work with area and perimeter, measurement, volume, and geometry. They will work together with their classmates to find the best way to solve the problem.
Stop Motion Animation: Claymation Party
Students in this exciting, hands-on stop-motion animation filmmaking workshop will explore the beloved theme of Claymation. These young filmmakers try a wide variety of approaches to using plasticine clay while creating unique animated films. Working in small production groups, they will design and build sets and characters, and bring these creations to life while they learn to use professional-grade animation software Dragon Frame Stop Motion. Once filming has wrapped, students will record voiceovers and sound effects for their films. They will also have a chance to step in front of the lens, animating themselves during a “Pixilation” exercise. The finished films will be shared via an online link which can be viewed, downloaded, and shared. Students will need to register for this class in Workshop I and Workshop II to participate.
Team Work
Students will participate in activities that encourage working as a group to develop strategies to be successful in different sports-themed games. To be successful, they will need to rely on each other and incorporate fundamental physical skills. Good teamwork relies on great communication and a positive attitude!
Up, Up and Away
If your child loves things that go up in the air, then they are going to love this class! Students will learn the art of design thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration as they tackle each project. The class goes beyond the mere act of creation; it’s an exploration of the science and engineering behind the objects that defy gravity. From the moment the first balloon inflates to the exhilarating launch of a unique balloon-powered car, every step is an adventure in innovation.
Week 4 – July 15-19
Adventures in Game Design with Microsoft MakeCode & Scratch
Students will explore different programming concepts as they create various games using a kid-friendly block-based programming language developed by Microsoft and MIT. Our team will introduce basic game design concepts like loops and functions.
Bon Voyage Art
Get your child’s passport ready as they take a trip around the world and visit different places and the artwork that is associated with that place. They will create artwork, such as Greek title art, Australian dot art, henna hands, Russian dolls, pinatas, and more.
Book Buddies
If your child loves to read, this is the class for them! They will explore different genres of literature, share their favorite books with other students, and learn about famous authors. They will make the most of their summer reading time while learning tips and tricks for being a great reader.
DIY Art Workshop
Students will learn ways to create projects by using simple materials and “Do It Yourself” techniques. Projects include lights in a jar, unique storage boxes, wooden games, and more!
Edible Science
Students will delve into the delightful realm of phase changes and chemical reactions as they embark on a flavorful journey of mixing and experimenting with ingredients. In this delectable workshop, not only will students satisfy their appetite, but they’ll also nourish your mind with the wonders of edible science. Students will unravel the secrets behind the various phase changes that take place when ingredients come together. From sweet surprises to savory experiments, every culinary creation will serve as a delicious lesson in the science of cooking.
Fizz, Pop, Over the Top
Come explore how science can be colorful, sticky, messy, and, of course, fun! Students will have a chance to create their own bath bombs, fluffy slime, rainbow in a jar, and erupting volcanoes! They will watch how their science experiments fizz, pop, and bubble right before their eyes!

Paper Architecture: Engineering with Cardboard
Students will choose a famous landmark or building from around the world to recreate and take home with them at the end of the week. They will also learn about the design process and how to use blueprint paper and lights to trace designs or create new ones from scratch.
Stop Motion Animation: Magical Unique Creatures
This hands-on workshop allows participants to create their own unique animals while exploring art-making and filmmaking. Working in small production groups, young filmmakers will design their own unique sets and characters and will bring these worlds to life using professional-grade software “DragonFrame Stop Motion.” Students will record voiceovers and sound effects and even have a chance to film the animators themselves during a “Pixilation” exercise (the animation of living subjects). The finished film will be shared via an online link and visitors can view, download, and share it. This is a two-period workshop. Students will need to register for this class in Workshop I and Workshop II to participate.
Team Games
Students will play together as a team while practicing sports skills. They will learn and play different cooperative games and activities that will focus on teamwork and good sportsmanship.
Writer’s Workshop
Does your child like to write? Or maybe they need a little help getting started? In this specialized workshop, students will develop strategies for generating ideas, organizing their thoughts, editing, and more! They will work on writing letters, poems, lists, and short stories.
Be an Entrepreneur
Does your child want to start their own business or website? In this workshop for budding entrepreneurs, that’s exactly what they’ll do! Students will work with a classmate to come up with a simple company idea, taking it as far as it will go before the camp ends. They will create a business plan, enlist friends and family, and set up everything they will need to be a junior entrepreneur: a first email address, a basic app or website, and a presentation. Ultimately, they will share their idea with friends and family, work hard to get a first customer, and present their progress to the whole camp. Students must enroll in this workshop for both Workshop I and Workshop II to participate.
Chess
In this program, students will learn the basics of chess, openings, strategy, and several chess-variant games like zombie chess and two-time chess. Beginning with free play to evaluate familiarity and comfort level, we will layer in skills and work with kids to learn to apply them to gameplay. Next, we will play variant games as a great way to keep students interested and having fun! Finally, we end with a group tournament. Students must enroll in this workshop for both Workshop I and Workshop II to participate.
Genetic Explorers
In this workshop, students will not only discover the fundamentals of DNA structure but also delve into the exciting realm of genetics through interactive and enjoyable activities. Picture this: Creating their name using DNA codons, unraveling the genetic mysteries of their own traits with Punnett Squares, and exploring much more in a dynamic learning environment.
Make Some Noise!
In this creative and hands-on workshop, students won’t be using regular musical instruments. Instead, they’ll be using everyday objects to make their very own unique instruments. From pan flutes to harmonicas, kazoos to castanets, xylophones to drums, shakers, and more, the possibilities are endless! Students will also develop problem-solving skills, unleash their creativity, and learn the value of teamwork.
Money Matters
Students will learn about money and build their financial literacy! They will have the chance to work with spending and saving money, learn about making a budget, and how to work with discounts.
Rube Goldberg Machine Lab
In this engaging and educational workshop, students will delve into the fascinating world of Rube Goldberg machines. Students will brainstorm innovative ideas, conduct exhilarating tests, and design intricate contraptions. This workshop blends fun and education, making the complex world of physics and engineering come alive in the most exciting way!
Sculpting Studio
In this workshop, every day is a new opportunity to sculpt, create, and explore the wonders of working with clay. Students will unleash their artistic flair, experiment with different textures, and watch as their ideas take shape. Students will create artwork from modeling clay, polymer clay, and air-dry clay.
Sports Challenge
In this workshop, students will challenge themselves to be the best! They will have fun playing different sports and games while working on their skills and confidence to bring themselves to the next level!
STEAM Time
Science, technology, engineering, art, and math are all part of STEAM. In this class, students will design and engineer a protective egg covering that will be tested when released from a firetruck’s ladder. Students will also design plastic cup robots, solar-powered cars, and more!
Tie-Dye Masters
Students will learn how to create a variety of tie-dye patterns with the use of professional dyes and natural dyes. This workshop will provide students with one or two items to tie-dye but will be asking students to bring in other cotton items from home. Students will learn a variety of tying techniques and the proper steps to preparing tie-dye materials.

Coding Your Own Cartoons
Students will learn how to express themselves and let their creativity shine through code as they work together to craft silly, scary, and exciting cartoons in Scratch or MakeCode, kid-friendly, visual programming environments developed by MIT and Microsoft. Throughout this experience, students will level up their knowledge of basic coding concepts as well as their “storytelling” ability.
Cosmic Explorers: Journey Through the Wonders of Outer Space
Embark on a cosmic adventure where students will delve into the mysteries of our solar system, discover the brilliance of the sun, explore the enchanting stars, and unveil the secrets of each unique planet. Engaging hands-on activities will allow students to create their own model of the solar system, making learning about space an interactive and memorable experience. Brace yourselves for a class that will transport you beyond the stars – it’s an exploration that’s truly out of this world!
Fun-dations Reading Program
Under the direction of a specially trained teacher, students will work in a small group setting. Students will review and practice the phonology of language and rules governing reading and writing through a variety of multi-sensory experiences. Enrollment is limited to rising second graders to allow for a low student-to-teacher ratio. Students must have current teacher recommendations/reading assessments to ensure proper placement. The program is designed for five weeks of consecutive programming to ensure thorough coverage of material. Students must enroll in at least three weeks to participate. An extra fee is required for this workshop.
Get Up and Dance!
If your child loves to dance and wants to explore various dance styles, this workshop is the perfect fit. Our curriculum introduces them to the world of dance through a fun and creative experience. In this class, students will have the opportunity to discover different types of dance, from ballet and hip-hop to creative movement. They’ll develop coordination, rhythm, and self-expression. Our experienced instructors will guide them in learning basic dance techniques, all while promoting physical fitness and fostering a love for dance. No prior dance experience is needed! Pet Tales
Does your child have a pet or want one? Students will explore stories that are centered around beloved animals and pets, share their own personal pet stories, and create their very own “Pet Tale” to share with their classmates at the end of the week! A special furry friend may even come for a special visit!
Safari Art Expedition
Students will design a unique snake sculpture out of clay, paint a colorful toucan, learn how to draw lions, tigers, and bears (oh my!), create collages of owls, paint koi fish, and more. Students will also learn all about color theory, balance, symmetry, contrast, sculpture, and painting.
Science in a Jar
Students will create a tornado, rock candy, fireworks, and even butter while learning about chemical and physical changes that take place.
Sports Time
It’s time for some sports! Students will have fun together while learning new games and sports in a non-competitive and cooperative environment.

Mo Mo Momentum
Is your child curious about how objects move and pick up speed? In this class, students will understand how momentum was discovered by experimenting with different materials, playing with bowling pins and a ball, designing and creating a balloon-powered car, and more!
Recycle, Repurpose, Reuse
Students will look at famous assemblage artists who made unique works of art from found materials and gave them a new purpose or meaning. After collecting materials, students will learn how to problem solve to make their own art from found materials.
Robotics

Using our Evolution 3 technology, students will first follow our most advanced Lego builds and then construct new builds using student-generated code to perform a task through the use of motors and sensors. Students will have the experience to identify how different motors and sensors have a variety of capabilities to create their own modifications. Through the program, students begin to understand the intricate language of robotics, a skill that is becoming more valuable as technology advances every day! Science Fair Fun
Students will learn how to research a Science Fair topic, design and create a winning tri-fold board, perform an experiment, or create an engineering design. Students will have the opportunity to present their Science Fair projects to a panel of judges.
Speech and Debate
Is your child eager to improve their public speaking and argument skills? This workshop covers speech and debate events of the National Speech and Debate Association, including public address events where students create speeches on different topics and interpretive events where they perform published material, perfect for acting and theater enthusiasts. Students will also learn how to craft persuasive speeches and engage in debates on various subjects, enhancing their research, analysis, and communication abilities. This workshop will boost students’ speaking confidence and critical thinking. No prior experience is required. Ukulele Unleashed
Would your child like to learn how to play the ukulele? This workshop will get them on your their to becoming the next ukulele sensation. Students may bring their own ukulele if they have one, but we can lend one to get started. At the end of the week, students will have learned basic chords and a few songs to play.
Zen and the Arts
Students will be exploring a variety of ways to make art that is designed to decrease stress and soothe. They will be looking at the art of Zentangle, looking at the history of Mandalas, and experimenting with materials such as paint pouring.

Adventures in Game Design with Microsoft MakeCode & Scratch
Students will explore different programming concepts as they create various games using a kid-friendly block-based programming language developed by Microsoft and MIT. Our team will introduce basic game design concepts like loops and functions.
Around the World in Five Days
Students will take a trip around the world without leaving camp! They will learn about different places for fun, exciting travel destinations from around the world. Students should grab their passports and get ready to take the trip of a lifetime!
Canvas Creations
Students will create their own paintings on canvas! Whether they choose to create a portrait, landscape, or still life, students will use their creativity to create a one-of-a-kind masterpiece.
Jr. Robotics
How would your child like to turn their next LEGO creation into a robot, programming it to do exactly what they tell it to do? Students will use LEGO Education’s WeDo 2.0 software to program their Lego creations with a drag-and-drop, icon-based system. This fun, action-packed program combines practical technology skills with endless fun!
Math+Games=FUN
In this dynamic workshop, students will explore a variety of math topics, including area, perimeter, geometry, order of operations, and basic math facts. Through hands-on activities and interactive games, students will not only refine their understanding of these fundamental concepts but will also discover the joy of applying them in a playful and cooperative setting.
Prints, Patterns, and Polka Dots
Students will create s bright, bold, colorful paper collages using a variety of materials filled with patterns, dots, stripes, and more.
Sew What!
In this exciting workshop, students will design and create unique projects. They will discover various techniques, stitches, and decorative embellishments, and craft stylish garments, accessories, and home decor items while becoming a sewing enthusiast. No experience or special materials are needed. Students will need to register for this class in Workshop I and Workshop II to participate.
Team Work!
Students will play a variety of team sports throughout the week. They will focus on developing their technique and skills within each sport and gain a basic understanding of playing a scrimmage. Cooperation and good sportsmanship will be emphasized.
Weird Science
Does your child want to be a scientist? Or increase their understanding of the natural world? Well, you’re in luck! In this workshop, students will learn about physics and the natural world through fun, easy science experiments in chemistry and physics. They will learn about states of matter, the animal and plant kingdoms, and how things we interact with in our everyday lives really work. Animals in Art
This workshop will be focused on making works of art based around animals. Students will see how artists, such as Frida Kahlo, used animals in their art. They will be using a variety of materials including oil pastels and watercolor to create big cat eyes filled with texture. Students will have an opportunity to create a portrait of their favorite pet or animal of their choice.
Creative Writing
Does your child have a story to tell? This workshop helps students express themselves through writing, helping them to develop their verbal skills, and learn how to craft compelling characters to build immersive worlds. Through guided exercises and personalized feedback, students will learn how to bring their ideas to life and create stories that will captivate readers.
